Paws & Pals City Walk N Stride Review

Introduction:

Owning small dogs has a lot of definite perks, since they make great lap pets, are generally easy to exercise, are able to live in an apartment, and are so much easier to bathe. However, when it comes to owners who live very active lifestyles, small dogs face their first fault, as they often do not have the stamina to keep up with their owners on long walks, hikes, or runs. This is where a stroller for small dogs will definitely come in handy.

However, there are many different options available for dog strollers for small breeds, and there is a lot of information to sort through. This review focuses on the Paws & Pals City Walk and Stride Stroller and why this might be right for you and your needs. In this review, we will discuss the product details, pros and cons, and any additional information may need to make an informed decision.

Pros:

There are numerous different aspects of this stroller make this stroller a great option if you have small dogs in your life who want to accompany you in your day to day activities or exercising. One great feature of the Paw & Pals City Walk N Stride is how great it is for your dog to get in and out of this stroller. This stroller features both rear and front openings for you and your dogs’ preference to getting in and out of the carriage. Additionally, the locking wheels make it stable for entrances and exits.

As well as this, this stroller is fairly spacious, so even if you have more than one dog taking advantage of the stroller, they are able to move about easily throughout the carriage.

This stroller comes with a removable rain cover, which helps to protect your pet from the elements and bugs. It’s easy to retract as well if your dog prefers to have a little bit of sun in their fur from time to time. Beyond that, this stroller also features two leashes to help keep your dogs in place and not running after other dogs, people, or wildlife.

Finally, this stroller is lightweight, easy to assemble, and easy to collapse. This makes it an ideal option if you are going to be frequently transporting it in your car, or if you are short on storage space in your home.

Cons:

There are many benefits of this stroller, but there are also some things to keep in mind as you are considering purchasing this dog stroller. While it is fairly easy for an able-bodied dog to get in and out of the carriage, it is a fair distance from the ground, so if your dog has any sort of mobility issues, it may be difficult for your dog to get in and out of.

Additionally, the biggest concern about this stroller is the fact that the manufacturer does list a weight capacity recommendation with this product. Many other reviewers have found that this stroller can comfortably accommodate 30 to 35 pounds, but it is unknown what the long-term effects of a  heavier dog could have on this particular stroller in terms of durability. While many reviewers find this to be a fantastic option for their pets, without the weight recommendation from the manufacturer, it is hard to wholeheartedly recommend this stroller, particularly in the long term.

Beyond that, even if the stroller is able to accommodate 35 pounds, it is somewhat restrictive if you are looking for a stroller to accommodate two or more small dogs. If you are looking for a stroller that can handle multiple small to medium dogs, check out our reviews of the No Zip NV Pet Stroller or the Promenade Pet Stroller.

Many people find that strollers that close with zippers often times malfunctioned or were not as escape proof as they could be. If your dog is somewhat of a scratcher or an escape artist, no zip options may be a better choice for you and your furry companions.

The pad on the bottom of the stroller tends to be fairly thin, so you may find that is necessary to add an additional cushion or blanket at the bottom in order to keep your dog comfortable.

Finally, some reviewers have found that this particular stroller does not manoeuvre as easily as other models, due to the four wheel design. Some have found that the wheel design is not very sturdy, nor does it travel well through sand or other rough terrain.

Additional Information:

While the Paws & Pals City Walk N Stride sits fairly high off the ground, which can be a struggle to get in an out of the carriage for the particularly small or disabled dogs, it does allow for extra storage space below the carriage of this stroller. This is particularly handy if you don’t have extra hands to carry toys, leashes, or other dog accessories. Additionally, this particular stroller does come with detachable cup holders to ensure that you and your furry companions stay hydrated on long walks or runs.

Regardless of why you need a stroller for you and your puppy children, this stroller is an excellent addition to your pet accessories collection.
